In the Heart of Varanasi: A Woman’s Unyielding Faith

In the bustling streets of Varanasi, where ancient rituals and modern life intersect, lived a woman named Mrs. Bindu Devi. Her story transcends mere chronicles; it is etched in the annals of faith—a testament to courage, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion.

Marriage and Family: Threads of Love and Legacy

For a quarter-century, Mrs. Bindu and Mr. Vinod Kumar wove their lives together. Their union wasn’t just a bond; it was a sacred covenant. Within the walls of their home, laughter echoed, prayers ascended, and the fragrance of devotion lingered. Three precious souls—Mr. Kishan, Mr. Shorya Gupta, and Ms. Arpita—were their legacy, entrusted by the Lord.

A Calling Beyond Borders: Footprints of Compassion

Mrs. Bindu’s heart pulsed with a divine rhythm—a calling transcending geographical boundaries. Supported by the Finnish Lutheran Overseas Mission and the Manipur Evangelical Lutheran Church, she stepped onto the mission field. Her footsteps etched imprints of compassion, hope, and transformation in the soil of humanity.

The Tragic Day: May 2, 2024

But fate, that capricious weaver, wove a dark thread. Returning home from the mission field, Mrs. Bindu faced her own family—the ones who should have embraced her with open arms. Instead, their fists struck her, leaving her body broken, bleeding, and betrayed. Yet, even in her pain, she clung to her faith. Her eyes held a secret—a glimpse of eternity.

The Final Goodbye: May 3, 2024

As dawn painted the sterile hospital room, Mrs. Bindu lay there—a fragile vessel, yet aflame with spirit. Her breaths whispered of departure, but her smile blazed with otherworldly certainty. “I am going home—to the Lord,” she murmured. Hallelujah! The room held its breath, caught between grief and awe.

A Heartbreaking Betrayal: Ashes and Unanswered Prayers

Her last wish echoed through sterile corridors: “Bury me; don’t burn me.” But tradition, like a relentless tide, swept her plea away. Her body, once vibrant, yielded to flames—the same flames that consumed dreams, love, and defiance. She committed no crime except embracing Jesus Christ as her Savior.

Healing and Distance: A Lighthouse in the Storm

Mrs. Bindu’s life bore the scars of sickness, yet she found healing—both physical and spiritual. Her family distanced themselves, fearing her transformation. But she stood firm, like a lighthouse in a storm. Joy danced in her eyes, defying pain; courage radiated from her every breath, defying convention.

A Legacy of Sacrifice: Echoes Through Time

May her story reverberate across generations. Let her family, her community, and all who hear remember her sacrifice. Mrs. Bindu Devi—the first martyr missionary—now rests in peace. Her journey, etched in the annals of faith, continues beyond earthly confines.
